During this period, the hen should be provided with the necessary level of nutrients in order to achieve maximum productivity and optimal egg size. The hen must continue gaining live weight during the peak period. The use of feed with low nutritional value during this period can lead to loss in live weight and deterioration of the backbone. Feed consumption by the hen should be encouraged in order to quickly obtain an optimal egg size.
